To all respectful politicians political leaders of Moldova:
I am Ali Jafari an Iranian journalist and a political activist.
I understand that Mr. Lurie Rosca, former deputy prime minister,
Former president of the Christian Democratic People’s Party since 1994 and a former member of the parliament is at the verge of being imprisoned for 7 years.
I wish to appeal to you on behalf of Mr. Iurie Rosca who is the subject of my deepest concern.
In the name of freedom, in the name of Justice, in the name of respect for freedom of expression, and in the name of human dignity stop Prosecuting this man. As history has numerously testified, you might be able to oppress political figures for a while but not forever. no one can extinguish the burning fire that exists in the heart of those heroes who put their life at risk for reviving human dignity and humanity and humanism.
Iurie Rosca, with a shining record of campaign against oppression, has been at the Vanguard of war for freedom and humanitarian causes of his people. Let’s not repeat the history, let’s learn a lesson from history. Let’s remember the destiny of former dictators who did not want to listen to the voices of their people, to the voices of those who called for freedom and Justice. Remember that UNGA resolution 60 /251, 2006 reaffirmed that all states, regardless of their political, economic and cultural systems, have the duty to promote and protect all human rights and fundamental freedoms. Universal Declaration of Human Rights guarantees that no one shall be subject to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile and the international Covenant on civil and political rights provide that no one shall be deprived of his liberty except on such grounds and in accordance with such procedures as are established by law.
Your Excellency, I have respect for your country’s Constitution and your judicial procedures. I trust and hope that you will carefully consider my appeal for Iurie Rosca’s freedom.
